I met up with Georgia Roller (Nathan), Alex13 (Alex), Ben, I don't think he's on the forum yet, and Purple Haze (Dave). From Madison to Athens to Blairsville over to Morganton then down thru Suches to Gainesville, had a blast and those guys can really ride. Alex and I ended up with over 350 miles and 12 1/2 to 13 hours in the saddle. For what it's worth, the kid can ride much better than his age would suggest.........he and I were both butt ass tired and still had about an 1 1/2 hours to go, he hung in there and made it untill I turned off (he still had about another 30 minutes). Nathan has this thing for gravel roads (yes, I said gravel roads), we took a turn and the road turned into gravel for about 1/2 mile............I HATE GRAVEL ROADS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but it all turned out for the best. He was an excellant road captain, and did well with the map reading. Ben can put that M-50 in a turn like nobody else, man that guy's awesome (except for the Blinker Thing........................ )Dave...............he and I were the senior's of the bunch, his "M" has forward controls, and believe it or not, I think with the new Mustang seat, I might be able to reach the pegs with a set installed on mine...........................He and Ben were the only two that still had the original seats, now Ben didn't say anything, but man you could tell Dave was not having fun wrestling to get a comfortable seating position. Then he sat on the Mustangs that Nathan and I have.........................YEP !!!!!!!! You guessed it, he's gonna put one on order. To sum it all up...........WE ALL HATE TAR SNAKES...........One part of Ga. 60 was just about completely covered up with TAR SNAKES, the bikes were all over the place and everyone's butt made little pinch marks in the seats. I actually went in a little hot on one of the turns and it felt like the front wheel moved out about 4 inches (it prolly was only about 1/2 inch but it felt like 4 inches). Awesome ride, met some awesome people (new friends), and saw more M-50's in one place than I have ever seen in the past and had more fun on $52.00 than I have ever had in the past. P.S...............photos should be posted soon (Alex and Ben had digital camera's). |
