WEEKEND TOP STORIES Valley Senator has a lead foot Updated: Aug 2, 2008 07:50 AM CDT A Valley state senator's lead foot has earned him a date with a judge. WAFF 48 News has learned Senator Lowell Barron from Fyffe was caught speeding late Sunday night. He was pulled over near Andalusia in Covington County. Andalusia's Chief of police says Senator Barron was driving at speeds so excessive they went beyond a receiving a regular speeding ticket. Instead Senator Barron was ticketed for "reckless driving." Barron says he was speeding because he thought someone who looked like a member of the Hells Angels was following him. The violation carries an automatic drivers license suspension. It also carries a mandatory date with a judge. Barron's court date is set for September 16th.  |
