Default The wife is freaking out!

Today, her 17 year old daughter (my step-daughter) left for a 3 week trip to England and Ireland. She flew out of Huntsville at 10am to Atlanta then London.

My wife gets on the internet this evening and decides to track the flight. She then calls me in the room to look at the screen. I walk into the room and notice that my wife has this worried look on her face. She says, "Look" as she points at the screen. "Her plane is 20 miles off course."

Here's a pic from the site earlier:

I told her that if she wanted she could call the airline to make sure they knew that the plane is 20 miles off course. For a brief moment I think she actually considered it before realizing that they probably know a little more about the flight than some woman surfin' the net from her living room in Podunk, Alabama.

Gotta love that maternal instinct. Moms always worry, even if the apron strings have been cut.

could be a few reasons for them straying off course a bit. Weather being the main one. Could be that the plane is just avoiding some weather problems and decided to fly around it instead of over it or through it.

Default Here's another reason the plane is veering to the left.

Could be something as simple as avoiding anti-aircraft fire... Wait, don't let her see that...

You can track the flight plan, actual course, elevation, time since departure and time to arrival.

And the website is brought to you by Haliburton, makers of surface-to-air anti-aircraft weaponry.

HOW THE FIGHT STARTED

A man and a woman were asleep like two innocent babies. Suddenly, at 3 o'clock in the morning, a loud noise came from outside. The woman, sort of bewildered, jumped up from the bed and yelled at the man 'Holy Sh*t, That must be my husband!'
>
So the guy quickly jumped out of the bed, scared and naked he jumped out the window like a crazy man. He smashed himself on the ground, ran through a thorn bush and then started to run as fast as he could to his car.
>
A few minutes later he returned and went up to the bedroom and screamed at the woman, 'I AM your husband!'
>
The woman yelled back, 'Yeah, then why were you running?'
>
And that folks............is how the fight started.

I wonder how many people thought or said similar things on a beautiful September day when they saw a 747 streaking in low, Southbound on the Hudson.

767 / 757, no 747.

So your wife is freaking out about the plane being off course - not the fact that her 17 year old daughter is across the ocean with a bunch of horny english boys - all of whom will be able to charm her with their accents?

God help her when she gets to Ireland!
