I got my orders this morning................

As of July 1st 2008 I will be transferred to Post 47 Forest Park, and placed back on the road as a field Trooper.

Good bye office, good bye sweet hours, good bye weekends and holidays.

I will only be able to post on my days off, or after I get home from my shift.

See Ya !!!!!!!!!!!

Our "Mounted" division has 10 Harley Electra Glides that patrol on I-285.

If any of you have ever rode on I-285 here around Atlanta, you realize that their (the mounted division) life expectancy isn't quite as long as someone in a car.

I have a buddy of mine on that squad, needless to say he's "INSANE".

it doesn't sound like smurf so much wanted the job as he drew the short straw.

Around here, (milwaukee) the police chief is taking nearly 200 cops out the office and put them on the street.

if by "on the street" you mean in a car slowly driving along and rarely stopping, they will be on the street.

If the Milwaukee PD was serious, they would have a rotation of "beat cops" who walk the beat. Say 1 week every 2 months. The residents have a local cop making the rounds every so often, and the cops don't wreck their feet walking all the time.

I had to fix that for you, you missed the middle part and scuffed the end there.

Congrats on getting away from that desk, FWIW. Nothing like a freaking desk to make your piles fuller and your gut bigger.

I second that statement about 285. I believe Atlanta may be the only major city that I've ever driven into where the traffic actually sped up from 75 to 90 as we approached the city limits (we were coming in on I20).

Since being in this job for the past 7 years, I have made a lot of friends in Federal Agencies including U.S. Customs, R.C.M.P, and several F.B.I. Agents.

Lets seeeeeeeee...................................

[smurf gets the globe out and searches for Aldergrove, B.C., Canada]

Ahhhhh Yes...........there it is. [now he picks up the phone and dials the number to the R.C.M.P and U.S. Customs......Hello.....yes mam, I have some information on an individual living in Aldergrove B.C., could I speak with the Agent in charge ?????]

hehehehehehehe, Balckie will never know what hit him..........
