Default Question for the ladies

My wife kinda caught me off guard a few days ago. Hopefully the ladies here can give me a little insight to what might be going on inside the wife's noggin. Well..... here goes nothing.

Few days ago, while getting ready for bed, my wife asked me about riding gear that I'll need for when I get my bike. So I told her the usual, helmet, jacket, etc... Then she asked how much it would cost for that stuff. I gave her the good internet prices and where I can get good stuff for cheap.

However, I felt the need to embellish just a tad. Say adding 50 bucks to each item just to be safe. She said "whatever it takes to keep you safe". Here's why I'm so blown away. Mainly I have to fight tooth and nail for anything I want or need. Usually ends up with her mad and I get whatever it is I want. Could she just be having one of those moments of being all sweet and kind? Like the woman I married sweet and kind?

I almost felt bad telling her the (somewhat) raised prices and now I'm thinking she was testing me and she already has a good idea on how much the stuff goes for. How can I tell if she's being nice and genuinely concerned for my safety (I'm pretty durn sure this is the case), or doing the crazy-wife-testing-your-stupid-husband-thing-I-read-in-a-magazine-thing?

Guess it's true what they say.

"Women. Can't live with them. Can't live without them."
