Default woops hate it when this happens

A 33-year-old Shelbyville motorcyclist was listed in critical condition at Methodist Hospital after he was in a crash involving another motorcycle Wednesday at 10:26 p.m.

The accident occurred at 1700 S. Miller Ave., near Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 1500 S. Miller Ave., said Shelbyville Deputy Police Chief Dave Benefiel.

Matthew K. Dennis, 33, and Mark A. Miller, 44 - both of Shelbyville - were each traveling south on Miller Avenue, Benefiel said. Dennis was north of, or behind, Miller.

Miller was slowing to make a right turn into Plastic Mouldings Co. LLC, 1451 S. Miller Ave.

"Miller, hearing Dennis' motorcycle coming up fast, slides as he turns and lays his motorcycle down," Benefiel said. "Dennis locks up his front tire and flips his motorcycle several times. At the present time, it is undetermined if the two motorcycles actually collided with each other."

The Shelbyville Police Department's Fatal Accident Crash Team responded to the scene.

Dennis was transported by LifeLine helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon. Miller was transported by ambulance to Major Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Benefiel said the crash remains under investigation.

Just another example why my next motorcycle will have ABS brakes...so that even in a panic situation, both tires stay on the ground, and I don't have to worry about locking up the front tire and cartwheeling over the bars with the bike right behind me.

So . . . do I have this straight?

LOUD PIPES MAY HAVE TAKEN HIS LIFE????

Not surprised. I've oftentimes been *that* close <holds finger and thumb a frog's hair apart> to killing some moron with his loud pipes.

Umm, what? He "laid his bike down" because he heard a noise?

This takes crashing to avoid a crash to a whole new level.

I can't help but take pause and think that maybe if they'd both been running with their high beams on, this whole thing could have been avoided.

Zamussi,

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to keep a close watch on this case, to try and find WTF actually happened, and keep us briefed, 'coz this just makes no sense whatsoever!

YEP! on the Easter egg run this year, we ended up beside this tosser on his H-D, which had straight through pipes, you know the five year old bike with 377 miles on the clock. All afternoon he was revving the bollocks of his piece of showroom shoite and I swear to God, I very nearly lost the spirit of the event. It was all I could do, not to snap his igition key off.

Noisy ****!
