Well I'm home now. Easy, I think I'll have the same ear problem you do. I can't feel my ear and the immediate surrounding tissue feels numb.

I guess I can do parlor tricks with my ear now. At a party, I'll challenge someone to stick a knitting needle through their ear.

"Look, I did it. Your turn, wus."

Thanks. Whenever I lay flat, my head swells up and I look like Shrek. Then I put ice on it and I look less hideous. I'm Shrekin' big time right now.

Now, about that upcoming vasectomy...

Why, are you hoping for swelling down there?

Cool. Down here in Bama country today, it's hotter than a fireplace in hell. I go to the garage, work on the valve adjustement for 5 minutes, get all hot then come in and put ice on my face. I've done this cycle like 3 times today already. Is this how insanity starts?

Well, at least you know the symptoms of insanity. Good luck with everything you've got going on DJ.

no no... insane is kinda like that, except you'd have 9 monkeys dressed like clowns toting tommy-guns, smoking cigars and flinging poo.
now that is insane.

The coolest thing, for now at least, is that my face is numb all around the surgery site because of some of the small nerves they have to cut to do the surgery and because of the swelling. The actual cut doesn't hurt. Touching it or rubbing it with peroxide to clean it just doesn't hurt. I did have a phantom itch today. My brain was telling me that my ear itched but rubbing it didn't matter. That was weird. Oh, and shaving today was weird. I couldn't feel the razor on part of my face.

the ear thing is just the nerve damage repairing itself... the other parts should come back fairly shortly...
that's what my doctor says anyhow...
