I have a deteriorating disk in my lower back that has been pretty much controlled by visiting a chiropractor once a month or so. It flared up pretty bad last year and I spent about a month going 3 times a week till it got better. Now it's flared up again and it can be pretty excruciating at times. I'm considering going to a surgeon to have it evaluated but a lot of people tell me the common solution is to fuse the vertebrae together and that I'd probably never ride again after that. I don't know if that's an option as I've been riding for 30 years and I enjoy it so much that I don't know if I can give it up. Anyone else had surgery on their back for similar circumstances? Any opinions? This has been bugging me for the past week and it doesn't seem to get any better. The chiropractor only seems to make it worse now. |
