Question Any New Hobbies?

Anyone picked up any new hobbies lately? (I can only imagine the jokes I'm about to get posted on here.. sighs.. )

Anywho, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I am starting to learn to play the shakuhatchi flute. I love the deep low notes it produces but last night I found some pvc piping and I got the crazy idea to see if I could make one. Success!! Made an awesome replica of my flute thats made from bamboo. Now I am on a quest. I have also loved the sound the Indian Bansuri flute makes and I am heading to Lowes today for some supplies to see if I can make one for myself.

Anywho.. have any of you picked up any new hobbies as of a late? Are there any new things you've been wanting to try?

and please keep the jokes to a minimum..lol

I've recently tried to get back to guitar, used to play a little back in school.
I've already got too many hobbies, so I really need more time to dedicate myself to learning to play again. Problem is at my age I learn something, then forget it the next day.

This one time . . . at band camp . . . my friend Scotty shoved a shakuhatchi flute <edited>

No new hobbies here. I've been dabbling with getting my P.E. license, so I spend some time studying that crap. I've also gotten into a B17 thing (see avatar), but it appears to be waning. There's only so much new stuff you can learn about a plane that hasn't been produced in 60 yeares.

Not sure what's next. I'll probably try my hand at carpentry and attempt to build a playground for my daughter.

I am trying to get into paintball. It is pretty expensive to play but it is a lot of fun. My wife and I also like to geocache when we have time. My main hobby is my 2yr old. I wish riding a motorcycle was on the list but until I switch jobs I will be without one.

I work as the remote control hobby tech-manager at the local hobby store. I have planes (nitro powered and electric), on road cars 75mhp+, off road 4wd, helicopters, electric boat & rc sailboat. I am getting a nitro powered motorcycle, you should see them run on two wheels-cool.

I've recently gotten into Black Rifles (AR-15s)

I did my first build about a month ago and have two more in progress.
Today I built a work bench in my office that will be my future reloading station.

I used a solid core door as the work bench top.
I don't intend to display the weapons on the peg board - that was just for a photo opp.

I didn't think they allowed those types on the coast.

me, "I hate the soviets, but I love their weapons."

my workbench, should I ever get that far (doubtful) would have sks/ak combinations with a truckful of various hardware laying around. aka not neat, ever.

nice workbench.

Work, gym, college courses, and the two hours a day I spend commuting to and from work doesn't give me much time for hobbies. I would like to learn how to play a ukulele and an acoustic guitar. I'd like an AR-15 of my own too.

What's a P.E. License?

well after quitting Hang-Gliding I'm planning to give paragliding a go. I am also working on my advanced rider's license, I may then become and Advanced riding observer, and if I don't get fed up I may move on to Examiner.. Probly get pissed off with it before I get that far though.

Well for me I need something I can just get .. "lost" in and for the most part I can do that with riding but I don't always feel like riding. I have started painting a little bit and thats turning out to be quite fun. I love making things. One project of mine is to take those really nice cigar boxes and make jewelry boxes out of them. Now I have found a musical instrument I like playing ... beyond that .. thats about it for me.
