Children and dating

Originally I put this on the bottom of the "Where were you at 31?" (or w/e) thread but it really didn't belong there so I've moved it to here.





My 14 y/o daughter is dating somewhat now. All dates are fully supervised ( they went bowling this Sunday, I was the chaperon and didn't let my daughter out of my sight when there was even a CHANCE of them being in the same area together. When they [he] wanted to play arcade instead of bowl ( even though they were with 'friends' and had some bowling still ) I tailed them and I made sure I was seen. They played 1 game and went back to bowling ( hmm ? ).

I love my daughter so much and it just pains me to think of some guy taking advantage of her. Am I naive? Do I think my daughter is 100% innocent? Hell no.... I'm no moron. Do I think that my daughter WANTS to 'do it' at the age of 14? I can honestly say no but I do believe that if she was pressured enough from a guy that MAYBE she might do it.... it's hard to gauge. However, all of that being said, they will not be going on any unsupervised 'dates' until she's 16 ( no, I'm not kidding ). We get full logs of her cell phone activities and we monitor all usage of the internet so any text/pictures that go/come in are seen by us. Oh and we use the phone as a leash... when she goes out with 'friends' (girls) we have her take pictures of the place every so often and we're smart about it, we request a certain shot/angle of something and THEN she sends it.

She totally understands why we're doing it like this and she's actually happy about it.

I can honestly say that I've never felt so vulnerable before in my life. I just can't bear to think of some guy taking advantage of her.
