Nope, not goalie.

It just feels natural for me as a lefty in hockey but I'm right-handed with everything else.

Not very. I've heard of lots of people like that... guys that play guitar with their left hands and do just about everything else with their right ones.

Geoff, I have shown great restraint in regards to you being a switch hitter! !!!

Just in case I do break down in PG.

Don't know the temp, but it's muggy as hell.

So far have used a ton of fuel in the smoker to maintain a 250 temp. Been running it since before dawn. Oddly enough, the sun has come out, and the humidity broke. Like a fever.

Brisket's on the menu today.

It's a great day, I'm sitting here in the office and we're finished for the day. I may just fuel up the plane and fly over to Tim's for some brisket.

Good morning everybody! and a Happy Monday one and all. Had a great weekend.

Worked 'till about 7pm on Friday, came home showered up and chilled out in front of the telly, with Anne....Bliss!!

Saturday I was at the Giant sleepover with the Scouts, apparently all the different factions of the scouting movement within the UK were having a sleepover somewhere on Saturday night, which culminates with the world co-ordinated teeth brushing record attempt. 'Twas a lot of fun.

Then on Sunday (Father's day - didnae get a friggin' card, from either of 'em!), We had a ride out to the falkirk wheel....

Here.....

I went with these people.....

Some of the bikes that some of these people ride.....

Where we stopped for bacon butties.... (Kilsyth)

...and the view enjoyed by the rest of the riders for most of the day.....

All in all, a great day. Oh and BTW I got a phone message at 11.30pm from the youngest, wishing me a happy Father's day.

The more I read, the cooler that wheel is!!

I now understand what's going on. Once you get to the top of that thing, you travel "through the eye of the needle" (so to speak) along the other canal. Neato.

Sort of like a touristy lock-and-dam.

Thassit, however it was deigned with two reasons in focus.

1. As the canal networks are enjoying a resurgence in both tourism and industry, many more are being reopened and reinstated, this one wheel replaces something in the region of 16 traditional canal locks, reducing the transit time from something like 4 hours to about 8 minutes.

2. provides an educational (Demonstrating Archimedes' principle) tourist attraction, which really does make for a pleasant day out.

BTW the 2 Gondolas, hold up to four canal boats each and weigh 300 tons each and it is driven by little more than the power of a couple of hairdryers!
