I've seen people drive better drunk than some can drive sober.

Well the dude that wrapped his car around a telephone pole in the rain is back. Either he fixed it or bought a new one just like it I dunno. Passed me in a 40 mph zone doing about 65, weaving in and out of traffic as usual, but this morning it was also RAINING. Did he not learn his lesson? Moron. And this isn't a punk kid either, the guy looks to be in his 60's.

That's what they call "Natural Selection". Sadly, since he's in his 60's already he's beaten most of the odds of this natural force.

I know just how you guys feel.

We had some reckless-driving lady coming careening down the road not too long ago, I think she was on drugs, and she almost drove right into the ditch. Then she almost hit the cement support on the side of the bridge.
Another guy came through the other day and my sisters and brothers and the neighborhood kids were out on the road, and he didn't even slow down. He just floored the pedal, lit his cigarette, and grinned as he sped past. When he came back through again, he was halfway out the window, grinning and drinking up a can of beer. One of our friends is going to report him next time he comes through the neighborhood like that. People like that need to stay off the road!

Two words..... Baseball Bat.

I had a totally amazing incident the other day, trundling through the town at 30mph, spotted an old lady approaching a junction and she was staring ahead.. intently.. I realised right then, she was oblivious to me so I slowed right down. As did the chap coming in the opposite direction, she continued through the junction, straight across the main road (my road) and into the junction on the other side of the road all at about 3MPH , still staring straight ahead. At this point I had stopped, as had the other guy and the traffic was stopping behind us also.. everyone.. even pedestrians were absolutely transfixed by the incident.

I only hope she gives up driving really soon, as some tosspot boy racer will insist on his right of way.. and cause an accident.

Well, this morning I had a guy follow me for 3 miles, then pass me, cut in front, only to hit the brakes and make a left turn. There was little traffic, and it was a 4 lane highway. Good job, you saved .001 seconds on that move, and wasted gas. Lucky you I didn't smash your little mickey mouse car like a beer can.

ohhh boy I am sooo glad I immediately had my mushy front brake fixed!

Yesterday a %$#@ blind woman in a sedan looked right at me approaching and signalling for the left turn into her street (requiring me to cross in front of her)...and then pulled out to cross in front of my path.

I truly panic stopped but only with the front brake ... only going 15 mph or so...didnt get my foot to the rear brake....but I stopped on a dime and ended up an inch from her font bumper as she finally also panic stopped in middle of my road. If I hadnt had the brakes fixed I definitely would have hit her.

Whew....

Glad you didn't hit her. Good brakes are a must, as the SUV that was pulling a trailer yesterday learned. Guy had too big of a trailer for the SUV, and tried to do a panic stop on the freeway. He couldn't stop even tho he had some distance between him and the vehicle in front of him, so he swerved hard left.
Nowhere to go except the curb and median, but he didn't make it, and flipped twice, landing upside down across the oncoming traffic.

It crushed the SUV, but amazingly, no one hit him, including the R bike that was coming pretty fast. I watched it all, and the biker had smoke coming off BOTH wheels in a panic stop. Handled it pretty well I thought. He came to a stop about 15 feet from the wrecked SUV, and was probably running in the 70-75 mph range. The SUV was just around a blind corner too, so the biker didn't see him until he rounded the corner. The vehicle next to the bike could not stop, so he went into the median by the service road.

Default Close call

I was riding back from my local Lowes the other day. I was sitting at the light in the left turn lane. The light turns green and I procede to make my left turn. When out of nowhere a car blows thru the light and missed me by about six inches. I looked over at the man and in a not so friendly voice explained my concerns the man rolled up his window and continued to talk on the phone like nothing had happened

Oh and for the tail gaters, I worked at a used car lot so we had lots of cv shaft bearings (they work very well when dropped at 45 to 60 mph)

Over here, most people just touch the brakes to show the brakelights, to scare back the tailgaters...
Me...
I stamp on the brakes and do an emergency stop, I haven't been hit yet but I am sure there are quite a few soiled seats out there.

If they tailgate me on the bike, I just wait until the next traffic lights, then stop and offer them a busted lip, that usually works!

Yesterday I had to pull duty on a delivery. I turn onto the entrance ramp, and it's wide enough for 2 trucks, and stop when I see a car backing back down the ramp, assuming they didn't want to enter the freeway and just decided to back down it. As I sit waiting for them to clear me so I can continue, I see the car is not moving over to the other side of the ramp as it should be.
I cannot back up, as another truck is behind me. So the idiot driver apparently does not see me, or decides to see if her Focus can so battle w/ my 18 wheeler. BAM! she backs straight into the front end of my truck, which has a huge heavy front bumper. WTF? are you blind? I see she is on a cell phone. OK, that answers that question. No damage at all to the truck, but considerable damage to hers. She had to call a tow truck, lol. People are so stupid. I gave her a lesson on committment. Once you enter a ramp, you are COMMITTED to get on the freeway.
