Cool video. Those minivan drivers are all alike it seems. I was driving home yesterday, in front of me is a beater pick-up towing a beater trailer full of scrap metal. In front of him is a bright yellow Mustang. We are going about 60 w/ plenty of space between all of us. The Stang puts on his left turn signal to turn, I slow down but the dude in the truck does not.

I see an accident about to happen. Sure enough, the dude comes awake, slams on brakes, and swerves to miss the Stang. He manages to hit the ditch, with every tire smoking as he skids past the Stang at about 50 mph. No contact. He was lucky that time. Amazing his brakes even worked on the truck, much less on the beater trailer. He slowed down to 45 the rest of the way until I turned off. I am sure he was like all the way to the scrap yard.

WOW! You seem to be in the right/wrong place at all times. What is that like twice in the last 3 days?

I only hit the high ones. Usually about 4 times a day something happens. Sometimes I am just glad to make it home in one piece. We have lots of traffic and lots of idiots. This morning a red light was out at a 6 way intersection. Crossing it looked like one of those videos you see on you tube of an Asian intersection. And yes, I was next in the so called "line" to make my way across, when 4 cars decided to attack each other in the middle of the intersection. Needless to say I was late for work. The cops worked the accident, but did NOT direct traffic. What a mess.

Everyday it's the same thing, people not yielding, slow drivers in the hammer lane, failure to stop at stop signs, running red lights at 70 mph, etc...
Did I mention we have tons and tons of folks from across the border living here?

Rode into work today with absolutely nothing happening. Not one idiot driver, it was pure bliss. Still haven't seen the dude back on the road after wrapping his car around the telephone pole. If he is, he must be driving a lot slower.

Yep, and on Friday it's the worst traffic of the week on the ride home.

sunday driving while getting on the interstate annoys the crap out of me.. Hello getting up to 65 isn't going to happen when you hit the interstate at 35mph...

Nice to see that some things really are universal.

Maybe they should build a computer voice into these people's cars ... something like this:

"Hello. You've just driven up the Autobahn entrance ramp at 50 kmh. The recommended speed when you reach the top of this ramp is 120 kmh. The long pedal on the right side is called the "accelerator". We recommend that you press it now. Press it. Now. Press it. NOW! STEP ON THE DAMN PEDAL! WTF ARE YOU WAITING FOR! PRESS IT. DO YOU WANT TO DIE? PRESS IT! NOW!"

It isn't going to happen on our interstates either, I can't remember the last time I went thru town above 35 mph during the day. The only time traffic is light enough to even approach the speed limit is maybe Christmas morning.

Well, this is very strange, so far I have been 57 miles today running errands on the bike. I have not seen one single idiot, and prolly won't see one, as I get to leave early so I'll miss traffic. Everybody is driving like a cop is behind them, using blinkers and everything. I'm gonna buy a lottery ticket.

Now you have to be EXTRA careful on the way home!

Default idiot TRUCK driver

left work early today to cruise Hiway 202 to Astoria...this is a lovely 2 lane twisty mountain road ...when I came up behind a loaded logging truck. I stayed way back and politely waited for a long straight stretch to pass. When I pulled out the &%$#@ truck moved over into my passing lane while I was near his back wheels ! Intentionally! the freaking idiot tried to keep me from passing...but I was already in process so I gunned it and got past him in the oncoming shoulder!..... scared me silly.....way out in the woods and I think he meant to play some stupid game with me....

I remember about 4 or 5 years ago, I was heading home from doing something and I don't remember what it was. I don't know what time it was, but I remember that it was Spring and it was dark out. As I'm about to turn onto the highway ramp, this nice truck comes whipping through the yellow, cuts me off, and just floors it down this ramp. I'm thinking it's some idiot kids that think they are racers because Daddy's truck has a V8. My car was no race car, but it could hold it's own against most stock vehicles (99 Grand Am GT). So I turn on the road and floor it too.

For about 10-15 miles, I was averaging between 90 and 95 most of the time, and I'm just in the passing lane behind him keeping up. IMAGINE my surprise when this totally normal looking truck just lights up light a friggin christmas tree! Turns out, this totally normal looking truck is an unmarked squad for the Minnesota State Patrol.

I'm thinking for sure I'm busted so I start pulling over, only to come around a curve and see a marked squad stuck in the ditch. Boy was I relieved! My dad was a very recently retired cop at the time and boy did he laugh when I told him what happened.

Whoop...just remembered another one.

I have a part time job as a Police Officer for a small town in SE MN. I've seen some pretty dumb and scary driving by both drunk and sober people. But here's the one that freaked me out the most at the time.

I had just finished a traffic stop on the edge of town, and I turned my squad around so I was facing back into town, and pulled onto the shoulder to update my log. As I'm typing on the computer, I just got that "chill". I don't really know how to describe it, but as I'm looking at the computer doing what I was doing, I just stopped and verbally spoke to myself "Holy S*** that was close". I look out the windshield to see this car moving at a pretty decent clip (I'm sure he was speeding, but never hit the radar) and it looked like he had just missed me by about a half an inch, and he's continueing to coast to the right. I see his right blinker come on as he approaches the intersection, then he pops the curb and came EXTREMELY close to taking out the stop sign (I have no idea how he didn't hit it) and went straight through the intersection and full speed. Never once hit the brakes! Well of course I'm right on his backside in a matter of seconds and stop him. STONE COLD SOBER! Passed my drunk tests with flying colors. He passed the vertical nystagmus as well (indicator for drug use if fail).

His excuse....his boot lace was in the door and he was looking and reaching trying to pull his boot lace out.

I didn't see him as he went by me, but my spidey sense did!!
