Default It's really motorcycle related.

Here's a test that every driver and motorcyclist ought to take, for "awareness". Take this test, if you have ever wondered why that CAR didn't see you (or them)....... use this, to figure out ways to make yourself come to their attention.

I've seen that before, and while I certainly agree that situational awareness is important, the brain cannot possibly be expected to notice everything your eyes see. In fact, an important part of our daily experience involves subconscious filtering of unimportant data to prevent overload.

Still, it makes a good point about what we don't see.

Wow. I even went back to make sure that they didn't just add that. I really didn't see the bear.

Yeah, I definitely didn't see it the first time I saw this video, and had to go back and check that they didn't add it

The bear makes no effort to hide either. Interesting experiment.

Physiologically, humans actually have blindspots; they aren't parts of your field of vision that you see poorly in... they are parts within your field of vision where your brain actually fills in images in accordance with visual data around the blindspot.

So, sometimes, people really didn't see you... as in... they didnt'... not from carelessness.
