Default Which is Worse?

Being woke up at four in the morning to the sound of a Freight Train running through your yard or, the sound of the Civil Defense siren wailing away?

Both!

Another rough night of storms, the town I live in DeSoto was hit pretty hard as were many other towns in the area. We didn’t suffer any damage other then loosing a few tree limbs. The damage is pretty wide spread and reports are still coming in.

Ever try to get two crippled women up and into a closet at 4am? Now include a cat and two dogs, one of which is a German Shepherd and really hates the cat.

I was going to say being woke up at 4 in the morning by your boss, because you were sleeping on the job.

I guess you got me beat.

We lost power in that storm. We lose power so much I have 2 generators, a standby for the first standby. And yep, nite storms are spooky, especially when tornadoes are all around.

Well, we're potentially getting 12-18 inches of snow tomorrow.

What was your complaint again?

Thursday Night, Apr 10

Low: 33 °F RealFeel®: 18 °F
Snow, heavy at times, accumulating 6-10 inches; winds gusting past 45 mph; near blizzard conditions

Friday, Apr 11

High: 35 °F RealFeel®: 21 °F
Breezy and cold with snow of varying intensity, accumulating an additional 1-3 inches

RealFeel??? So, wind chill wasn't enough? They've registered their latest, "In the ongoing effort to make you more miserable we've found a new way to make you feel colder" calculation method as a trademark?

FWIW, we're mowing here in TN.

IIRC, "realfeel" is a combination of temp and humidity, so it covers wind chill and the heat index (with which I'm sure you're familiar).

I'm going to be getting hit hard with a storm here pretty quick! I love to watch the lightening! We are under a flash flood warning and it is 20 to 30 mile an hour winds. Woohoo for me. And i am home alone, hope i don't get scared! LOL

In a perfect world, yeah but unfortunantly the women folk have a different view on which pet to keep.

So after getting the women and pets secured in the closet, did you go back to bed?

That's nothing; my folks live by the Horicon marsh.

I swear that marsh is like a huge magnet for tornadoes. I would guess conservatively that 5 tornadoes go through the marsh any given year. Mind you it's a big marsh and all, but it seems to be a magnet.

don't sweat it; if a twister makes a wrong turn, poof, no more bike.

We had a whole town leveled around here not too long ago. Not a big town mind you (1400) but a tornado took out the whole town.
