Default Choke!!!

At least the Memphis Tigers had the forethought to make their team color blue. Most choking victims (even those who choke themselves) turn blue, so . . .

I'm SO glad they bit it. I hate this town, I hate that crappy school and I hate sports in general. There were so many fair-weather fans running around here yesterday you could stir them with a stick.

Thanks for reminding me that there are only about 2 months left before all stupidity in Europe begins to focus on Basel for the opening of the European Soccer Championships.

On the other hand, I'm happy that the soccer championships are about a zillion times less controversial than the Olympics, which have been severely injured and may never recover (or they will simply be executed by the Chinese).

Yeah, the Chinese have wanted to screw this pooch for years. Now, they've got their chance and I must say, they are definitely off to a great start!

Maybe next time they'll hold them in Turkey or Syria.

Why not Saudi Arabia?

Beach Volleyball wouldn't be the same when the women were covered from head to toe in a Burka.

And it would probably get in the way during the 100 meter sprints, too.

Not to mention the overheating issues by the women marathon runners...

Yesterday, the workmates were all "WE're going to do <this>," and "WE need to work on OUR free throws."

Well, today, it's a different story: "THEY lost because of <this>," and "THEY couldn't hit THEIR free throws."

I really feel sorry for one of my friends in particular. He was a dedicated fan for most of yesterday, so he's got hundreds of minutes invested in fanhood, only to have THEM lose it for US. How sad.

I didn't get to watch the whole game but the part I saw convinced me that Memphis can't shoot at all. Its not just foul shots if they can't get loose down the lane it seems nobody on the team can make a 15 foot jump shot.

That's what that "team and sport you hate so badly" gets for beating a better team from the RIGHT side of the state earler.

Face it Landry, you are a sports fan or you wouldn't have started this thread. lol

I want to be very clear: I LOVE to hate sports, especially local teams.

Grown men tossing a ball around for big bucks is ridiculous. Now if you tape up their hands and let 'em beat each other to a pulp . . . THAT I might watch.
