Default I Love This %%%%

I do. I really do. I'm talking about the forums. I don't know what it is, probably the fact that I'm able to get paid to chat, and I can edit before I post (not that it corrects for my lack of logic most of the time). Whatever it is, I really enjoy trading nonsense (as well as the occasional learning experience) with you guys.

I have learned so much from internet forums. Mainly I have learned about maintenance and repairs. 2 very important items for the modern motorcyclist. You're either going to learn to work on your own bike, or you're going to have to suck it up and pay someone else. I prefer to do it myself when I can. If the bike gets scratched, I know how it happened and I know that the guy that bought it scratched it. Way different than finding a scratch that you paid $55/hour for.

I have also learned a lot about the way other people live their lives. For instance, I never really thought much about snowmobiles until I joined the forums. It now makes sense to me: folks up north get enough snow to make use of these things. DUH!!! I always wondered WTF had time to use one!!

Mostly, I just enjoy the Human Zoo. I mean I could sit and watch people all day without getting bored. People are odd. I'd bet cash money that I'm in the upper 10 percentile for oddness, so I bet others really get a kick out of watching me do some of the things that I do in my daily life.

One of the most fulfilling things about the forum is when you actually hook up and meet with some of the guys on the forums. Sure, every now and then you come across a nut (happened to me last year . . . invited a guy to go on my annual ride with my buddy (from another fourm) and he winds up being sort of a jerk (and a weirdo . . . if I call you a weirdo, take note)), but for the most part you wind up with a friend that shares the same interests as you. Oftentimes, I leave this person and think to myself, "Now why can't I have friends like that? All my friends are abnormal, but this person really hits the mark."

Anyway, I just thought I'd share. Thanks for making my days nicer than they would be if I didn't have buddies to chat with on the forums.

Yes, I'm hugging all of you like a 16-year old girl that just met her friends from school at the mall. It's okay, you don't have to hug back.

I have to agree. It's pretty cool, and I miss it when I'm in the field. I've also learned many lessons about human nature over the last eight years - some of it quite disappointing, some of it very uplifting.

Alright, I'm confused by posts 5 and 6.

FWIW, I AM real when I'm on here. Ask Jeff (jgreth) . . . you're not going to get anything out of me but nonsense . . . forum or not. It's a defense mechanism for people that developed the spontaneous-thought portions of the brain while the rest of you were developing the memory, logic and knowledge portions.

I meant a title for Annie: "Picking up Landry poop". We're well aware of how real you are. Besides, your clever wit belies your self-proclaimed idiocy.

I love the internet and forums too. It's the best place ot get information, or at least gather enough info to make your own decision. I have met lots of good friends on forums. Besides, it gives me something to do at work all day.

I knew my Mustang inside and out, and I had every mod part memorized for it thanks to my time at Stangnet. Too bad life had other plans. It's been a year now since I sold it. While the B12 is much (much!) faster, there's something about a V8 growling through a chunk of Borla. Some days I had the best sounding car at the autocross.

I have to agree with you Landry, this is a great place to hang out. No, I didn't mean that!! It's difficult in daily life to find folks that you can bond with, well it is for me anyway. So many seem to aspire for normalcy, boring!! What I see in many of the members here is a quest to find the true self and a big part of that is interaction on a higher level.

We have some pretty sharp knives in the drawer and I too am glad to be a member here. I know I am a better person due to the influence and interaction I have with you all.

So thanks for the post and hug, I hate hugging but I will give in this one time.
