I used to be a member of the Old Guard. You've seen the soldier's wearing the dress blue's walking the tomb of the unknown or for a burial at Arlington? That's what I did for a few years. You're the first woman I ever heard about doing this...but then I've been out of the military for well over 20 something years.

I'm real sorry for your loss... it's always too soon when a parent passes away. I lost my Dad 6 years ago during bypass surgery, age 71 - been losing my Mom a piece at a time for the past 2.5 years due to brain cancer, age 76. This is not going to be a good year.

Going to see her this weekend!

I'd make you a plate of cookies, but my kids eat all the chips before I can make the dough.
