I keep listening to Amaranth.... damn just love it already... not sure what it is, just something about how it all comes together. Very catchy.

Well, I have now listened to a few Nightwish tracks and... well average, it is a done to death formula, bested, IMO by evanescense. I liked both of the lead singers, but the second definately had the edge, the first one should stay well away from opera, except maybe, at karaoke. Phantom of the opera, oh please! Like Madonna and Evita. I wish these 'pop' vocalists would stay within thier realm of abilities. Far more credible.

What I like is a wee bit of originality, or a subtle massaging of something existing.. not a copy with a different voice and words. The lead guitar of Nightwish is just a cliche.

That lot does sound negative, but I really did like them, just wouldn't go mad.

Scotty's funeral track, however, now that is where they should be spending more time.. Her voice, thier sound.. perfect match for that format.

I am a HUGE opera fan and I do, myself, perform in stage musicals. So I do have a wee bit of experience.

BUT this is just my opinion.

Now I'm off to look for some of the others mentioned.

Later.

Well said Sir Buster.. I like anything "different" even if its only slight. Many rock bands have tried to capture that theatrical sound and marry it to metal i.e. Savatage - Edge of Thorns, and even some of Dream Theater's music (both great bands) but this band seems to have come together a bit better. Some of the songs however with Tarja where a bit over the top though....

(LMAO!! just watched the clip to Guru with Mike Myers!!! Got to go see that flick.. too funny.... what where we discussing?? OH!!)

was bit over the top.. Anette certainly brought out the rock sound which is a two edged sword, now they are no different then any other rock/metal band.

All together my base opinion is a good one..

thank you..

trailer time..

Oh dear....here's another victim.... I thought Scott was pretty bad...naming his cell phone Delila and not know where a corner of a room was.

We REALLY need a shrink or a doctor here.

I doubt it; that problem would be way to normal.
