Default Read this letter!

Allow me to copy a letter I recieved yesterday..

To the rector of Oban High School. (Copied to me) From the chair person of the Prince's trust - Argyll.

It reads..

As you may know, your fourth year pupil Carolyn, came to speak at the small lunch organised on behalf of the Prince's trust in the Oban Bay Hotel.

Provost William Petrie and councillor Donnie McMillan of Argyll & Bute council were present along with other business people. Carolyn spoke to our guests about the XL programme in Oban High School. She impressed everybody present with her confident and entertaining manner and her ability not only to speak in public but also to contribute considerably to the general conversation which took place at the lunch table.

Carolyn is an amazing young lady and a credit to Oban High School. She speaks very highly of the XL programme. I think I can safely say that all present at the lunch were impressed, indeed humbled, by Carolyn's vitality and enthusiasm for life.

Signed, etc.

This is typed verbatim.

This is about my daughter who slipped *very badly* off the rails two years ago and has now turned herself around to become a real achiever..

How proud am I....

WOW what a tribute. that bought tears to mine and my wife's eye's. We can relate to having children go off the rails , and how hard it is to find their way back, but what an achievement, we wish you all the best for the future. Bruce and Julie

Incredible. Congratulations to you, your daughter, and your family. Anyone who has raised a family can understand the ups and downs that things can take at times.

What a great way to start off the day. Thanks for sharing.

That's a nice note...thanks for sharing it.

I often tell my daughters how proud I am of them. That and being honest with them has made us what we are.

That's great Buster. It's amazing how much more pride we can have in our children's actions than we ever did in our own.

It is a very diverse programme, which teaches kids life skills, not the subjects normally covered in school, things like financial responsibility, teambuilding, social conscience, morality etc.

More over, it is a voluntary programme run outwith school.
