Default HELP!!! With shipping

I am trying to purchase a set of pipes off another forum member, however, all of the shipping rates are coming through as preposterous. EG DHL want nearly $400.00 to ship to the UK.

I am still waiting on a reply from USPS.

Now, if I were to buy these from a retailer I would pay $140.00 shipping, I know 'coz I have asked.

So does anyone out there know how to ship these things to the UK without the ridiculous bill?

TVM

This may have to do with Customs inspection requirements for "non-certified" shippers.

Ask the carrier why the high cost..........or ask Customs.

I wish you luck.

Buster,

"Shipping" may be the better alternative, but you'll end up waiting up to 6 weeks for delivery.

"Shipping", in other words, putting the stuff on a ship and sailing it across the Atlantic, is the cheapest way to go. When shipping cargo, you pay for the size of the package. If you send it by air, you pay for the size and the weight of the package, but you can get it almost overnight.

You might try contacting a shipping company to see if they can slip it into an existing container that will be going from the East Coast of the USA to Scotland anyway. Then, the seller only has to have it delivered to the port on the east coast (relatively inexpensive), and then it's shipped to the port in Scotland.

It only costs more to ship overseas! But i'm sorry it should not cost $400.00. I think you are getting riped off, being that i deal with shipping everyday for the drivers backrests that i sell, it only costs me $35.00 to ship over there. It has nothing to do with customs, customs is just a stopping point for things that are shipped there so they can make sure that nothing illegal is in the packages. And USPS is the cheapest way to go!! Make sure you ask for confirmation on an order like that. So you can track it. Good luck, but if i were you i would not pay $400.00 to have it shipped that is outrageous.

Okay kids, update from USPS, it is too big!

They will not ship it!

FFS, retailers manage it all day every day!
