Ephedrine. they used to sell this stuff at all the convience store. I would take it before I went out drinking. The next day was hell because you would be twitching all day.

First ingredient in meth!!

(seriously, it is. you go buy lots of ephedrine. then you do what's called a "pill soak" where you put all the ephedrine into a 5-gallon flask full of <snip> and you put it in the refrigerator. while the pills are soaking, you want to go ahead and set up for the next step. take a couple of coffee filters and . . . )

I used to be a fireman. The DEA taught us most of the operation (surely they left a step out) so that we'd have some idea what we were looking at when we worked meth labs.

I didn't know that. I'm sure it gets much more intense once you start adding the other ingredients like Rat poison.

Actually, it appears to be a purification process to make the ephedrine more potent, then I believe there's some sort of a chemical conversion to turn it into methamphetamine. Or something like that.

I guess that is why we used to take 6 of them at a time when it said to take 1 or 2. once in college (not band camp) I had a big final. I took about 3/4 of a box of No Doze. The results are as follwed;

I was wide eyed for about an hour, proceeded to puke, fell asleep an hour later, woke up late for the, ran to class and proceeded to get about a 80. Good thing my friend in front of me kept opening his text book to cheat or else I would have failed. I would have been better off going out drinking with him the night before.

A little more about this class. It was a Religious Studies class you had to take at the school I went to. The Professor didn't bust my buddy for cheating because my friend knew that he was "playing around with some of the female students and giving them A's." I'm sure his wife would have been a little upset with him. I wish I had known what my friend did before the final.

When I was 17 I worked at a grocery store. I took a bunch of No-Doze once night (don't remember exactly how much). I thought I was going to have a heartattack. Seriously.

At 17 you thought you would have a heart attack. At my age now I would have one.

I've never tried amphetamines (other than caffeine), but I did ONCE drink a Red Bull.

I was on my way home, driving down the Autobahn from Frankfurt towards Basel (about 200 miles). I was absolutely exhausted, and just wanted to get home. I stopped at a gas station and downed a can of Red Bull.

I was wide awake for exactly 1 hour, then came the crash - I was still about 45 minutes from home, and more tired than before I drank the damn stuff. Not good.

Plus, that stuff tasted WICKED. Evil. Ugh. Choke. Puke. Gaahhh.
