Speaking of . . .

Whose bright idea was it to give the Olympics to the Chinese this year? They denied this athlete's visa just because he doesn't approve of their genocidal tactics.

%%%% China. That's right I said it. %%%% China.

I tell ya' what . . . the next time WE have the Olympics, how's about we stoop to their level and deny some of THEIR athletes' visas?

I hate sports anyway, but I don't hate them as much as I hate China.

%%%% China.

Actually, the motion to hold the Olympics crossed my desk. Yeah! I was a little shocked with the rest of y'ous. However, I rubberstamped it, and passed it on. So....here we are. You've got me to blame.

No dove season? Ours starts Sept 1, then bow season for deer. I don't rifle hunt, only bow hunt, but I think the rifle season is in Nov. some time. Most of TX has no closed season on small game. And the feral hogs have taken over like fire ants, they are everywhere, and are quite a nuisence.

You can get your tags at the coroners office. Remember, if your looking to bag a East German doe, you have to be really careful because they look just like the bucks.

Is it still illegal to bait those things? Back in the day, we'd spread a jumbo bag of corn chips on the ground, oftentimes we'd also sweeten the pot by pouring a case of PBR over a few pounds of candy corn.

You can plant a food plot or you can put corn out for them, they have feeders that go off at preset times that are also legal.

Do you know what I hate? This thread! I click on the last page and start reading about the Olympics in China. I read the link landry provided, came back to this forum, and am reading the discussion/jokes that ensue.

All of a sudden, I see a post about dove hunting. "Where's The Feet!?" , I think. Soon, I decide that KD57 accidentally posted in the wrong thread. Just as I'm coming to terms with the world, more people start discussing hunting with quotes that I don't remember reading.

Needless to say, I was freaking out. It took an embarrassingly long time for me to realize that this is the "Ranting v. 2.0" thread, and I had skipped over too many pages.

I think I'm going to go lie down now and look at the wall where things are a lot less confusing.

edit: By the way, the athlete that was denied a visa isn't competing this year. At least, that's what I gathered from the news article. As you can probably tell, I'm not all here this evening, so you will want to pay even less attention than normal to my posts.

if we were to lower ourselves to China's standards, well we'd have to start burning more coal. Much more coal.

w/out scrubbers.

This one broke her arm yesterday afternoon, they had to put two pins in it last night. Cheryl stayed with her at the hospital last night, they will let her come home this morning. The best part is that they start school Friday.

Oh, she's cute! I hope the arm heals quickly!

Oh, poor girl. How'd she do it (if I can be nosey)?

Folks, take note of that picture. Sure, it contains a cute little girl with a kitty cat and a motorcycle, but there are some subtle things there. Note the grass. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that's St. Augustine grass, my absolute favorite grass ever. I'd bet most folks don't live where Augustine grows well. There are certain spots of soil in TN where it will prosper, but for the most part it isn't worth the effort to try. Folks in FL, lower MS, lower LA, lower Alabama and lower Georgia have it. Anyway, just look around at the picture and try to put yourself there. That's Louisiana . . . God's country. Where fire ants drive trucks . . . where armadillo are organized and go out on military maneuvers . . . where gators have the right of way . . . where "Ka-wah" is an actual word . . . where the smell of countless Landrys fills the air . . . where a woman can skin a squirrel and look pretty at the same time.

[removes hat and starts to sing the Acadian anthem]

BTW . . . when are the Cajuns going to get their apology from Nova Scotia??

Yes, but what's with the ladder in the upper left hand corner? Do you need a ladder to jump onto a trampoline? And the basketball in the background? You can't play BBall on grass! What's wrong with you people?
