that's nothing, a few years back, we got a blizzard in May.

8 inches of snow by 10:00, all melted by 7:00 that evening. Weirdest thing.

Believe me, the situation leading to the root canal (tooth dying, leading to incredible pain) was much worse than the root canal itself (which went over a period of about 2 weeks). My dentist had to drill a hole through a ceramic crown which had replaced an older filling just 2 years earlier.

My dad was adamant about teeth brushing in our home as far back as I can remember. When we where little he used to do teeth inspections after dinner and make me give a big toothy grin to see how well we brushed our teeth.

He was this way because when he was younger he was in a car accident knocking out practically all of his teeth. He had to deal with dentures at a very young age (26) and hated them tremendously. So he made sure his kids never had to deal with the pain of teeth problems. Even now I brush twice daily and make sure its the last thing I do before bed.
I don't know how people can just go to bed after eating and not brush their teeth, leaving them nasty all night long..lol.. drives me crazy if I don't get to brush them.

Well, sometimes work is like a bowel obstruction. You know that it isn't going to be pretty when it's finally finished, and it's causing you nothing but pain, but somehow it just never seems to want to get done.

I have more store-bought teeth than real ones at this point. Without going into my whole dental history, I got my several of front teeth knocked out when I was 8 or 9 (nothing flashy . . . bouncing on a bed with my friend and her head hit mine on the bounce as I was coming down), and I've had caps put on most of my molars due to bad fillings (I guess).

I got a root canal at 9. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Let me drop a quick dentist story on you . . .

WRT the "Nip" incident, the dentist pulled that cap off and started cleaning the tooth carcass (for lack of a better term) underneath. You know that little metal pick they like to jam around your teeth? The sharp one? Yeah. The azz accidentally poked that thing into the soft stuff that's exposed when you remove your cap. I stood stright up in the chair and said 3 Hail Marys while I tried (in vain, thankfully) to pull his spleen out through his ear canal.

I can honestly tell you that pain took on a new perspective that day, and I've dealt with loads of pain before. Now, when I go to the dentist I'm thinking, "Short of stabbing my tooth marrow with an ice pick, there's nothing you can do to hurt me lady."

Kinda like those folks that take a bath in the morning? Go to bed all sweaty and dirty, then wake up and take a shower, then get dirty again in an hour? Doesn't make sense to me.

NOW we're on a topic. If I could have it any way I wanted it, I'd take a shower before bed and one in the morning also. In fact, if I workout in the "Lovenasium" before sleep, that's exactly what I do.

My Dad takes a bath. To paraphrase Kramer (From Seinfeld), "Why would I want to sit in a tepid pool of my own filth?" Also, he takes it at night, so in the morning he's all . . . you know . . . morningy. It's not like he's funky or anything, but I have to have a shower in the morning or I don't feel right (unless I'm camping or about to chop wood or something).

Cleans teeth, showers, jumps into bed, jumps on to Anne, jumps into dreamland, jumps up to the alarm, cleans teeth, down the drive (with the dog jumping all over the place), jumps on the bike, Jumps off at work and (On occasion), jumps into the shower at work, before jumping all over some imbecile for srewing up the Sim hall environmentals.

Pretty good routine huh?

Don't like baths, in fact I don't even have a bath tub. Showers all the way !!
And I also remove or drill out the stupid environmental water saving restrictor that comes in today's shower heads. It's all about pressure baby.!!!

Another thing is toilets that have only 1.5 gallons of water in them. I firmly believe 5 gallons is required, so my new toilets are highly modified for superior flushing action.

Not quite, but this has nearly turned into a poop thread. We're getting close.
We need an official plumbing thread. I hate plumbing. I could go on a 30 page rant on the subject.

Last Tuesday, my first day home sick, our toilet didn't flush. At all. No water in the tank.

I called a plumber, who ended up replacing the entire tank "technology" (floater, etc.) because it was all totally caulked up. He then ran some acid through the pipes ... the whole action cost me about $350!

Jim...you're supposed to poop in the BOWL! Not the tank my man. An upper decker is reserved for those who you don't like. Not your own can man.

FWIW. $350??????? Rebuild kits are like $12 at the hardware store, and an "acid" flush is a $6 can of Drano. Unless you got a mother board in the loo....methinks you were sold a bad bill of goods my friend.

Doctor called a plumber over to fix his toilet. Plumber had it flushing in 5 minutes. Plumber sd. that will be 75.00. Doctor sd. that's awful good money you make, heck, I'm a Doctor, and I don't make that kind of money. Plumber sd. when I was a Doctor, I didn't make that kind of money either.

my rant... middle management. They come in with their ideas to somehow look like they know whats going on within my work unit. They get their ideas from stealing what they've heard techs say to them or from the reps from our service people and then contort it into their own ideas w/o knowing what the %%%% is going on. Speaking up only gets 1800 questions to why your thinking outside the box.. Then they listen to some asshat tech who has no idea what they're talking about. Nothing like a little ass kissing to get you ahead. FFS i need a beer...
