Default Hola From Sunny California

Well this is the first chance I have had to even turn on the PC since we left Dallas at 5am on Sunday Morning.

We got to the airport checked or baggage undressed for security then redressed for the rest of the trip.

We were scheduled to leave at 8:45am, we boarded the plane and left the gate early! As we were taxiing they turned the plane around and headed back to the gate. Evidently there was something they were unable to secure so they had to return to get it secured.

We departed again, I haven't been on a commercial airliner for over 10 years, the feel of the plane accelerating down the runway was so cool, until they shut it down just before takeoff. Again there was something they didn't like, this time in the instrumentation. So back to the gate we went.

This time we were deboarded and the suggestion was made to possibly make arrangements to take an alternant flight. By the time we got off the plane there was a very long line at the check in counter. I opted to call reservations, I explained our plight and made new reservations to cover the chance of needing to change flights. All the travel savvy people had already beat me to it. The earliest we could get out (if the existing flight got canceled) was at 6pm.

Well at noon they got our flight off and they had already rescheduled our connecting flight out of Phoenix. The rest of the trip was smooth. We arrived in time to get checked into the hotel and then run up to the church to setup for the Monday Morning program, practice was at 9pm and it was with Denver and TMHO. Well things went off well we set everything up patched all the mics into the system set the stage up with risers and prepared for the worst.

Denver brought his own sound engineer (good thing) they only had 18 mics sheesh, so that left me free to shoot some photos. They were more work then shooting a race, but man what a show!

Here is the drill for the next week:

After the evening show (usually about 8:30 pm) break down and setup for the next day and practice that evening (we got dune at midnight last night and 1:30am on Sunday).

On the next morning return by 8 am to check equipment and fine tune before morning practice, then we have the morning program the artist of the day only sings about 4 songs, we go over our punch list of issues after the program (this is all coordinated with broadcast and video). Make the necessary changes, try to squeeze in some lunch then do the afternoon practice and fine tune the setup for the evening show where the artist has 1 hour. Then we have supper catered in just before the show. Do the show and start the process all over again.

Oh sound, lighting, video, and broadcast are all on the second level in the balcony area, no elevator, I hate stairs.

Here is my prerequisite tourist photo.

Here is the view from Ontario Airport as we arrived.
