Actually kids are not so bad...they're like puppies. You get one when you are ready for it and then you train it very well while it is still young. Then, when it grows up, you have a nice companion.

On the other hand...just get a dog.

Soad.. don't worry. H.S. isn't forever, it's just a mere 4 years out of an entire lifetime. Just like this past summer, this school year will be over in no time.

Besides, when you're not in school and/or doing homework, you have all of us to come chat with! What more could you want?

Seriously, though, make the best of what you're given. You're being handed a free education. If you plan NOW what you want to do when you get out, you can use school as your "tool" to get you one step closer to your goals. Want to make high school mean something? Go start with your guidance counselor, and start planning your life (if you haven't already done so).

Sorry.. done with my rant.

No offence, red, but I think SuzukiGirl gets the "cool Mom speech" award for this one.

I don't think Marge Simpson could have said it better...

Didn't want to step on your toes ... you being an experienced mom and all. I don't have any children of my own (my g/f has a 19 year old daughter who I love, but I didn't have anything to do with her upbrining).

Oh please! Do I seem like I'd be THAT stodgy?? I ride a sportbike, for crying out loud!

Hey, I was married to an "unstable" woman for 11 years - I am still a bit gunshy when I say something that could possibly be misinterpreted (or used against me years later when I have long forgotten it).

But, point taken - you're "cool"

You kind of have to be like that on a forum. Without the face-to-face quotient, folks aren't sure what the heck the other guy's driving at sometimes. Been there, done that.

Please, think about your families! That shotgun is gonna make a huge mess, and the'll have to re-paint (and probably re-tile) the bathroom. A nice rope and a strong tree branch would do the trick, or just a handful of sleeping pills and a bottle of your favorite tequila/vodka/rum/gin/whiskey/schnapps...

I think if you mixed all that you skip the pills altogether!

I agree, shotgun at that close range would be real messy. Then you have to figure that your mind would have been so preoccupied that you just know your gonna forget your hearing protection!

THAT is why I live in Switzerland ... the chance of dying of a hot lead poisoning was too high in Los Angeles (or anywhere else in the USA).
