Butte daredevil, international legend Evel Knievel has died By The Standard Staff - 11/30/2007 Death finally caught up with the man who defied it for decades. Butte’s own Robert Craig “Evel” Knievel breathed his last roughly two hours ago. According to his longtime friend Bill Rundle, Knievel died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Knievel was experiencing breathing problems this morning at his Clearwater, Fla., home, and his wife Krystal called 911. The 69-year-old had been battling pulmonary fibrosis for the past few years. The incurable disease gradually replaces healthy lung tissue with scar tissue. Rundle said Knievel’s funeral will be in Butte. The man was a legend R.I.P. Evel |
