Here's the story; I had two big hickory trees cut and the brush chipped up and hauled away. What is left is a bunch of firewood sized chunks of tree trunks. Today we went to my parents for Thanksgiving lunch. After lunch I asked my 83 year old dad where his go-devil (it's a maul for you that don't know) was. My plan was to split some of the wood today. My son known on here as chriszuki said that he and his wife would come by at some point this afternoon to help. Needless to say they haven't been seen since. Just kidding, but do any of you older folks still split your own wood? I plan on renting a wood splitter to do the whole job but I just wanted to see what it felt like to actually split wood again. It ain't fun for a 52 year old fart with a big beer belly!! |
