Nice to hear about weapons, but back to the beers now! USA Industrial garbage category: 'Buttweiser', Busch, Coors and anything mass marketed and dirt cheap. Europe Industrial garbage category: Carlsberg, Heinekken, don't remember any more, but sure there are more. In order to sell more, the brewers have to manufacture stuff on larger and larger scales, which always eats away at the quality. And that's true for pretty much any drink - you won't find the best wines in your local supermarket, among the most popular wines. Popular doesn't equal good. The small, local companies always have better beers, because they pay individualized attention to their brewes. They put their heart and soul into it, and they listen to their customers. What's the heart and soul of Budweiser? Megamarketing horsesh*t! The reality is that when you drink a Bud, it's like saying "Dude, I had a gourmet meal at McDonald's!"!

Truthfully, I'm not that picky. SOme beers are just plain nasty, but for the most part, I really don't care. You only rent that crap anyway, you know? Also, if you ask me today what beer I drank on this date a year ago, I couldn't tell you . . . 'cause I don't really care. PBR!!!!!!!!!!

According to the German "Reinheitsgebot" (Purity Law) from 23. April 1516, Beer may only contain barley, hops and water. Later it was ammended to allow yeast (which had not been identified in the 16th century). Also, it has been ammended to allow wheat to be used instead of barley. Most (if not all) German breweries still brew in accordance with this law. As anyone ever tried "Banana beer"? It's a Hefeweizen beer that has been mixed with some banana puree. It's sort of unusual ... (No, I'm not making this up, they really do serve this in some restaurants. I tried one in a restaurant in Frankfurt.) And in Belgium, breweries are marketing all kinds of trendy beers - cherry beer (beer with cherry juice), peach beer (beer with peach juice), you name it.

There's this Belgian beer 'Blue Moon', which is actually made in the USA under Belgian license. The last step in making a regular beer is filtering it, so it becomes nice and clear (sort of like decanting the wines). For the 'Blue Moon' they skip this step though, and what you get is a kind of "raw beer". It has this stuff floating inside of it - it looks disgusting if you judge it by the looks. But it has a much richer smell and taste than most beers. I personally like it. You guys should give it a try. I also like Guinness draught. This is a very polarizing beer - people either hate it or love it.
