| Oorah Sgt Mike. Read somewhere recently how there arent very many WWII vet still alive. Theres always alot of talk of how the younger generation is ungrateful and abuses the freedoms they have, that others have fought and died for. But just look at the job our men and women are doing overseas now. Time marches on.. |

| It's so nice that after more than 50 years from WWII, I am here talking with all of you. 2 generations in the past from me, we were in war. When you look at the individuals, we all have families and those we love. It's so sad that people, who are basically the same, need to fight. As for Japan, I am so glad that we are now at peace and wish it will stay this way forever. Thanks, Sgt. Mike for a great link!

| During my tenure in the military, I was fortunate enough to NOT have to go to war. I have never taken the sacrifices made by so many for granted as I know many veterans who have put their lives on the line for my(our) freedom. Our country is far from perfect ( corrupt government but that's another story ) but the people we have here make it worth living in. God bless all of our military, past and present. And Kay, I agree 100%.

When? Just now. We're at now now. Go back to then. When? Now! Now? Now! I can't. Why? We missed it. When? Just now. When will then be now? Soon. |

All of our counties are imperfect. The sooner our "Leaders" learn to live with this, the sooner we can consign war into distant history. Then people like Sgt Mike, myself and a great many others will not have to see and do what we have had to... I honour and salute those who have stood and fallen to maintain our liberties. and Kay... | |

| A minor military brat here but lemme just say I am proud of all our vets and I don't think we do enough to honor those who have died or are now living with an injury resulting from war. I read somewhere that Cali is full of homeless men (and women) who served in Vietnam and due to the mental stress of what they indured over there they are now unable to fit into a normal society. I also read an updated report on this that spoke of military personel who fought in the first Gulf War now dealing with some of the same estranged problems that Vietnam vets suffer. Bottom line is this.. I feel our country could and should do far more to honor, help and give aid to our military men and women then what it currently does. Now I can't site the report I just gave because i believe I had heard this from some radio talk show (maybe Glen Beck or Rush not sure) so don't ask me to post the source up. _____ Yes, Japan too suffered greatly at the feet of war and from what I understand they still live with after affects of it. It's always sad to see life lost on either side but human nature being what it is will never allow for a peaceful world to which we strive to live in. It's become more of just protecting yourself and your own country from extremest (sp) and finaticales (sp) who seek to push their own agenda's. Maybe one day .. just maybe we will have a world thats actually at peace with each other.. I doubt it but one can dream.. At any rate I say again I am proud of the sacrafices of the men and women who have struggled to make our country, and our world a safer place.. we own them much.. Just a ranting opinion here.. |
