Default 17 years . . .

17 years since we lost Stevie Ray Vaughn. My, how time flies.

Ironic that SRV was killed in a helicopter that Clapton should have been on, seeing as how much I admire SRV versus how much distaste I have for Clapton.

It's almost as if Hendrix was born just to play good songs that SRV would later make great.

Ladies and Gentlemen . . . I give you . . . the master . . .

RIP SRV (<== hey, it rhymes!!).

Frickin' shame that it happened after he cleaned himself up too. Always seems to happen that way.

When I was in Austin about 6 years ago, I too stopped by the memorial and snapped a few pics. Awesome place to put his monument.

RIP SRV

heh-heh . . . kinda.

Reminds me of something funny . . . if I ever get the chance to meet Paul McCartney, I'm going to march right up to him and say, "Oh My GOD!!! It's that guy that played bass for Wings!!!"

That'll teach him.

I remember the day...I was stuck in Japan. I heard it over a telephone call. Then the news. I was still in disbelief.
Landry...If you recall. Clapton met Hendrix's and then Jimi passed. Clapton was marveled at the guitar work of Jimi.
Here again the same happened to SRV. Clapton met him and then the Helicopter crash.
Also Jimmy Vaughn played in Double Trouble. When Stevie payed on David Bowie's tour(Chine Girl) Jimmy got in with the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Then went back with Stevie and started on Family Style when Stevie passed.
Truly a really depressing day.

Just think

There was a world without SRV before there was a world with MOTOHOLIC.

Feel old yet?

I drove my Chevy to the levy
But the levy was dry
And them good ole boys
Were drinking whiskey and rye
Singing this will be the day that I die
This will be the day that I die

Stevie was an inspiration for me growing up. It really sucked when I hear of his death. What was even worse...he finally got to be clean and sober before he died. So sad that he wasn't able enjoy it more.
