Today I had a very healthy lunch. Salad with lite salad dressing, spinach, steamed carrots, and a baked potato. I'm already used to eating the healthy way....so that's good. I'm also drinking lots of liquids. As for going out, there's nothing to do out there, so I usually stay in. And sometimes I work out. Hannah and I have been going through our recipes, picking out the healthiest ones since she's been having some trouble with her gall bladder. We're both losing weight together and encouraging each other.

The scale can't be trusted though. A lot of our floors are rather uneven (we live in an old house), so they're hard to read. It was trying to tell me that I'd gained 8 pounds over 1 day!

Chic, Hannah, I know how difficult it is. Heck I don't mind losing another 5lb and I can't even come to THAT!!

So I really think you guys are great keeping up the efforts.

Darn, I feel like I'm being so lazy. 5lb? I should really give that a shot.

So today I had a nice healthy lunch, then went out on a 1 and 1/2 hour walk. It was so hot and the sun was so broiling, but it sure felt good to be out walking and burning calories and stuff. I also did a 1/2 hour of weedeating this morning..so, I'm gettin back out and findin stuff to do.

And Joe, I don't think Cheerios are a good choice of food to eat three times a day!!

I know, right?

I've lost the weight, so now I'm working on muscle. My bike tire's borked hueg, so I'm going to walk to work in lieu of riding my bike, which is what I like to do. I'm basically doing walking/running/biking one day, then the next day I spend curling and bench pressing, among other things, then running again, etc.

So I decided to start doing crunches to keep my gut in check. I have a slight spinal curve. Strong stomach muscles help the back and all that. Well after a couple of consecutive days of crunches, I've got sore back muscles. Go figure.

Stay with it, a strong core is essential to overall fitness. Include leg lifts and planks (top push-up position held for 30 sec ~ 60 sec) as well as the crunches. Obviously a couple of days is not enough time to see realize the benefits of this. After a couple of months though you will be amazed at how better you feel in general. Your back is probably sore because of stretching the muscles, hopefully that's all it is.

Hey all. Down here in beautiful Ft. Pickett, Va.

Haven't had a chance to weigh in yet, but it has been in the 100's everyday since we got here. Of course, the archaic barracks we are in do not have air conditioning, so I been sweating 24/7 since arriving. I would say at least dropped 3-5 pounds just this week. I'm also getting a lot of walking and much more exercise than I am used to since I'm not sitting behind a desk all day.

This could turn out to be great for the gut cut. I will try to get to the gym and hop on the scale for an update. I will update whenever I can get on-line.

Keep it up everyone. It's great encouragement.

Our scale must be torn up or something because it gives me ridiculous numbers.... Anyway, I've not been eating much. I haven't eaten lunch yet. I'm just sittin here eating Yogos. I didn't eat lunch or supper yesterday, but before bed I had some chicken cacciatore. I just don't have any appetite.

All you guys keep it up!

I don't know how much I weigh. I think I may have lost a few pounds. I HAVE to eat healthy (not fat, little sugar, no high-calorie foods) cause I got problems with my gallbladder. I've DEFINITELY lost weight. It shows. My clothes are getting too big and my gut doesn't stick out as much as it used to....WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
