|  After Fifteen Years
Fifteen years ago I had a inflight engine failure and I walked away without a scatch, well I did it again wednesday morning. At about 6:30 am I was finishing up a field when there was a tremendous explosion in my engine, we think a compresser turbine wheel came apart at 38,000 rpm's. I made a quick emergency call and then scanned the area for a landing spot, not many choices from 200 feet, anyway a plowed field was all I had so thats where I headed. While trying to clear a power line and a levee I stalled the plane about 25 to 30 feet above the ground and pancaked it in preety hard, from point of impact to where it stopped was less than 100 feet. The plane itself is not a total loss but the engine is, I seem to be alright except for being sore everywhere from the waist up, the hardest part was climbing back in another plane a hour and a half later and flying all day.
