Default I was hit by a car

So, some of you read, I was hit by a car.

Longer version:

I was at work (I'm a firefighter) and we responded to a wreck off of one of our highways that runs into the city. A man's car was sideswiped and it caused him to lose control and he rolled his car. It's standard SOP for our department to answer all wrecks with a pumper (in case of fire and traffic control until PD gets on scene) and a Medic unit (for obvious reasons). The man had minor injuries and got out of his car before we arrived. After we had assessed him, we let him go sit in the back of the Medic truck until his ride got there. It was a cold February morning so it was the least we could do. I went to help one of the medics pick up all of his gear that was laying beside where the man was sitting. Just beside us a lady was rubber-necking and hit a truck causing her to lose control and come straight towards us. The other guy saw it before I did and turned to run. He was able to get away. The car struck me in the side sending me into a ditch. I had to be transported and went through what I've seen so many serious collision patients go through. Chest tubes, foley's, and the works. I was lucky and blessed to come away with only a bruised liver (no drinking for a long time ), a concussion, three broken ribs, a punctured lung, and two fractured vertebrae. So I spent a while in the hospital and now I'm home and in this highly fashionable back brace. Been trying to get the local bike painter to powder coat it black for me!!! Anywho, I'm alive and will be able to walk again. Now I have immeasurable amounts of down time to spend lurking on all the previous forums that I used to frequent.
