Won't find me practicing what I'm preaching won't find me making no sacrifice but I can get you a pocketful of miracles if you promise to be good, try to be nice God will take good care of you just do as I say, don't do as I do!

| Top Gear ! Full Throttle! ![]() | I watched An Inconvenient Truth and found it very thought provoking, but the article points out another inconvenient truth. There are many scenes of travel in the movie where he is flying on a (semi) private jet or riding in the back of a limo. The end of the film, during the credits, has several things you can do to lower your carbon footprint. Use public transportation, get rid of incandescent bulbs, turn off lights and appliances that aren't in use, etc. I really didn't see the former VP doing any of those things. The article makes it abundantly clear that he doesn't take his stance seriously and is really in it just to get his name out there. I've swapped out my incandescents for CF bulbs to the tune of over 800 fewer watts. My laptop is set for energy savings when plugged in so it powers down after a short idle period. I drive a very small hybrid car. I'm not a hippie, I just don't like breathing smoke, and I don't like paying extra for things that are unnecessary.

| if I was a wookie i'd go over there and flip his house up-side-down. ... not to prove anything or something ... just to flip his house over. ... you know, if he were to shut his mouth for a while the ammount the hot air reduction could easily offset his energy usage

| It's a changing world. I believe there are bigger issues than merely and solely one single pollutant. The simple straightforward answer is almost never the whole answer. |

| He keeps hangin' around.... does'nt he know he's just supposed to shut up and accept what's dished out? You know, he acts like he was the actual winner of the presidential election or something.... boy... does that take the cake. Fortunately, we all know that this whole global warming thing is a big phonied-up story, but it's not the same type of phonied-up story that President Bush sold the public. I think the important difference here is that Gore's story is a loser and no one ever believed it, while the President's story was believed.. lock, stock and barrel ! So here you have it.... Loser Al Gore verses the Big Winner: George Bush. .............. no contest.

| The losers don't ever go away! Look at other famous losers and the accomplishments they've done Nixon (to Kennedy) went on to have a career in politics, last I heard. McGovern (to Nixon) went on to do all kinds of things Mondale (to Reagan) ditto Dukakis (to Bush sr.) did something, definitely something. Oh, I forgot Carter, he's around building houses for the poor. And those ungrateful ingrates boo him for it. It's absurd. |
