So there I was cutting underbrush and clearing trees in the "back forty". Looks like pine beetles got a hold of some of my pine trees last year so I decided to clear them too. I had been out there for about 3 hours when i came across a 30 ft pine tree that had fallen and layed up in another tree. i decide to hook up the 4 wheeler and pull it out. i have a 25 foot rope that i tied off about 3 feet up the tree. i started pulling in 4 low. the tree starts to pull and the hangs in the dirt. naturally, i had to "gun it"

to "unstick it". instead of the base of the tree moving the top decided to endo right toward me naturally. the quad got hit pretty hard by the top of the tree moving at mach 2 or so. i had already unassed the seat, but the top of the tree broke off and performed a perfect jack knife into the top of my tennis shoe clad foot. of course i'm home alone and there is no chance of someone happening by in the woods. i lay there for a few minutes feeling sorry for myself. then i had to hobble to the back of the quad to untie the tree so i could drive home. wife came home and we went to the urgent care. turns out i have three broken foot bones.

now how am i gonna ride my bike to work with a broken foot?
