|  my german phrasebook
so i am hoping to be able to take a trip to germany next summer(not to coincide with the dragon ride, no worries there). so i have been working on learning german. in the event i can't learn enough in time i decided i should have a phrasebook for just in case. however the phrasebooks i have seen don't have the phrases i use the most or ones i foresee myself using. so i am sharing them with you. "hello, i am lost and my compass is broken. which direction is north?" hallo, ich bin verloren und meine kompass ist gebrochen. welche richtung ist nord? "could you please say that slowly?" konnten Sie das bitte langsam sagen? "could you please say that more slowly?" konnten Sie das bitte mehr langsam sagen? "could you please help me find what you just said in my german english dictionary?" konnten Sie mir bitte helfen, zu finden, was sagten Sie gerade in meinem deutschen englischen Wörterbuch? "hello, i am lost. and i have to pee really bad." hallo, ich bin verloren. und ich muß pinkeln wirklich schlecht. "hello, where is the nearest gas station?" hallo, wo ist die nächste Tankstelle? "yes, i ran out of gas. how could you tell?" ja lief ich aus Gas heraus, wie Sie sagen konnten? "no, thank you. i don't need help pushing the motorcycle to the next gas station." nein, danke, das ich nicht die Hilfe benötige, die das Motorrad zur folgenden Tankstelle drückt. "what do you mean the next gas station is 20 kilometers???" was bedeuten Sie die folgende Tankstelle sind 20 Kilometer??? "hello, i am lost. and i think i have been lost here before." hallo, ich bin verloren und ich denke, daß ich hier vorher verloren worden bin. "hello officer. i was too busy translating road signs to pay attention to my speed." hallo Offizier. ich war zu beschäftigte Übersetzungsstraße Zeichen, meine Geschwindigkeit zu beachten. "hello officer. those are very nice handcuffs. when is your shift over?" hallo Offizier. sind die sehr nette Handschellen, wenn Ihre verschiebung rüber ist? "hello, i am lost. where is the nearest bar?" hallo, ich bin verloren. wo der nächste bar ist? "hey there, hottie! can i take your picture?" he dort, hottie! kann ich Ihr Photo machen? "no thank you. one beer is my limit." nein, danke, das ein Bier meine Begrenzung ist. "hello, i think i'm going to throw up." hallo, denke ich, daß ich kotze werde. "hello, is there a laundromat someplace around here where i can wash my clothes?" hallo, gibt es ein Waschsalon irgendwo herum hier, wo ich meine Kleidung waschen kann? "hello, i am lost. ...what do you mean i am in the czech republic???" hallo, ich bin verloren. ... was Sie mich bedeuten, sind in der tschechischen Republik? "hello, i am lost. ...what do you mean i am in luxembourg??? and just where in bloody hell is luxembourg?" hallo, ich bin verloren. ... was Sie mich bedeuten, sind in Luxemburg??? und gerade wo in der blutigen Hölle ist Luxemburg? "hello, yes i am lost. how could you tell?" hallo, ja ich bin verloren, wie Sie sagen konnten? "hello, where is the nearest motorcycle repair shop? and do they sell NOS? ...i think i'm going to miss my plane." hallo, wo ist das nächste Motorrad Reparaturwerkstatt? und verkaufen sie NOS? ...ich denken, daß ich mein Flugzeug vermissen werde.  |
