I'm a ex-marine, vietnam combat vet - 1965-66. If I could do something to change your mind I would. Since your young and ready nothing I would say will make any difference, I just hope you'll come back in good shape. I wish I could run a tape of my 13 months in Vietnam, but it's my reality, not anyone else's. Good luck my friend, Semper Fi!

Cool! And thank you! I am a combat vet of the First Gulf War, and salute your decision. If you ever start drinking, come by and the beer is on me.

I hope the service is good for you, and to you.

Oh, last May. "I joined the Marines!" implies just that.

Implies what? that it was ahile ago and that he has moved on to different things? He might not be at a point where he can get internet access and keep you updated but still deserves your respect and support no matter how you feel about the situation. He atleast is willing to act for something he believes in.

Good grief! Who turned this into a philosophical grandstand? All I meant was that his first post didn't clarify that he's ALREADY BEEN in the Marines for a number of months, and I wasn't the only one confused. I certainly don't need your lecturing.

That's a good looking photo, Tom. Your uniform suits you well.

I agree...the only way you could tell he was already in and out of boot was by clicking the Myspace link...

It may have been the toughest time but you’ll look back at the funny remedial BS stuff that went on. The funniest thing my TI did was wake us all up at 2:30 in the morning with a pubic hair he just picked up off a toilet seat in his hand screaming, demanding to know who’s pubic hair it was. I just about died laughing.

Anyways good luck man and thank you!!!!!
