Okay, not trying to be anti-social here I suppose there are pro's and con's to each. Flat tires and mechanical breakdowns are best had when you ride with others and it's fun to share the experience of the ride, although nowadays a cell phone and a pillon along can be a good alternative I guess. Two problems I experience when riding in a group are: am I going too slow and maybe ruining the groups ride? or: is someone in the front going too damn fast and risking everyone's life to keep up? And: If I need to pull over and bleed the lizard am I again spoiling the ride for others (weak bladder) :{. For me personally, second guessing the groups intentions on the road are a bit of a problem at times. I've only had one very good friend that I've known since childhood that I have a kindof intuition with regarding things like -- when we should take a break, correct speed for the conditions, etc. The rest of the time with others I seem to be out of sync. Things like riding over the speed limit in a deer-infested area at night, or speeding through blind corners, just, geeze, I don't know, just kinda scare me! Dan |
