| I spent the better part of a year drooling over the suzuki 650sv. Well, I purchased a blue 2003 today. I know there are set prices on motorcycles but I am not sure what a reasonable cost for tax, and fees are, because this is my first new bike. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for what these fees normally run?? Out the door I paid a total of $6200. Does this seem like a decent deal?

| That is bot a bad deal at all, and as good as you are going to get this time of year. The 2003 650sv lists for $6300 for just the bike, but of course being a leftover the price would have dropped. But $6200 out the door is pretty good, as most dealers charge you about $150 for assembly and another $75-80 for administrative fees, plus the tax, which would be $441 at a dealer in this state. I got a tremendous deal on my Intruder, but I bought in January when the dealer was seeing more snow plows than customers. Of course, riding it home in 28-degree weather was not exactly fun, but I did save a bundle...
