Too bad they don't do that here. They set up the camera on the side of the road, but it is rarely in a car or van. The latest "trick" they are using is hiding the camera inside a garbage can with three small holes in the side (one for the camera lens, one for the radar, and one for the flash). Or they hide it inside the "bumble bee" (the black and yellow striped post on a traffic island when the street 'forks').

Time for some civil disobedient minded citizens to start throwing a burlap sac over those bad boys. In the US those type of cameras would cost so much to repair from the vandalism that it would be a losing proposition for the local jurisdiction. Afterall, that type of crap is about revenue generation, not road safety.

Scandalous! Then again, people evade speed cameras in any way possible, whether it be a light-reflecting license plate cover, or simply slowing down for the speed cameras before accelerating again.
