Default 700 miles in 4 days

Just got back from Dillard Georgia, the first day was just the ride up there, then Monday we rode the Dragon again, then went to the Cherohala, then back to Dillard. On Tuesday we rode down to Helen and back to Dillard. And on Wednesday we rode home for a total of 700 miles. This may not be alot to some, but for me it was the furthest I have ridden in that length of time.

Loved the Dragon "Again", this makes three passes for me. The Cherohala was exciting because I have never been around curves that long, seemed like I was in a lean forever. On the way back from the Dragon, Cherohala trip we were going to go back to Cherokee then to Franklin then down to Dillard. In between Robinsville and Cherokee we saw a sign that said "Franklin 32 miles". Well we had a meeting of the minds and decided that that was closer then going thru Cherokee, and off we went. The road was "Wayha Road" this road runs from U.S. 129 directly over to Franklin N.C. on U.S. 64, it was 32 miles long with turns and hair pins just like the Dragon, we were so tired by the time we hit Franklin, all of us was praying for a straight road to relax on. If any of you get a chance to go back, look for "Wayha Road" you will not regret it. After we got back we decided it should be call "WoooHoooo Road", because when you got to the end you felt like saying WoooooHooooo!!!!

I have come back from the Dragon twice, and each time I come back a more confident rider (not cockey, or fearless) just a more confident rider. These roads will make you appreciate the bike, the road, and the people who have gone before you with confidence before making the trip. Also I would like to thank the forum members for giving me insight into all these roads, I couldn't make it when ya'll went but reading the details of the trip here, gave me a little insight as to what to expect....."Thanks to Everyone".

My wife says I'm obsessed with the "Dragon" because it's all I have talked about for the past three or four weeks (since Fathers Day). Sorry for the rambling post.....Just wanted to let everyong know what an excellent time I had and the name of a new road.

Glad you enjoyed your trip.

As for the distance, that depends on the individual. I did a trip just shy of 600 miles in 3 days (actually, 300 on day 1, 0 on day 2 and 300 on day 3). That is my longest so far. It did help my confidence too.

Thanks for the info on Wayha road. Me and 2 friends are returning to The Dragon in late September, so we might try and find that road. We love that stuff.

Wayah Bald Road. One fuel stop on the dern thing. So fuel up prior or expect it to be halfway through it. The trip we made in June the group going up with me went north on that road on the way to Gatlinburg. Also check out NC28 from Deals Gap all the way to Highlands North Carolina.

That was part of the route we took on the Saturday ride the whole group went on. Smurf there is a group going up tomorrow to Suches and the area. If I am feeling ok with it I might ride it tomorrow as well. Butthis time I will take the Wee-Strom.

Glad you enjoyed your training time the state provided!!!!

Sorry for the delayed reply, just got back to work and realized that I hadn't replied to you. Can't go , couldn't go, had "Honey Doos" to complete. Next weekend I could possibly be up for a day trip if anyone is going anywhere. Thanks for the invite.
