Very NICE!
The last movie I saw in the theater was LOTR The Return of the King.

I too enjoy the home entertainment center myself. Currently running a 50" Sony 3LCD HDTV, and a Sony 5.1 Dream System at 500 watts.

After buying those I can't really afford to go to the theater

I hear that. We got ours shortly after DLP sets came out. I weaseled $500 off at Circuit City, but still....

I haven't been to the movies in MANY years. Just doesn't appeal to me.

I do rent movies every now and then. It's been a while since I found a flick I really liked. The Bourne Identity/Supremacy movies were pretty cool.

I don't like too much of the fantasy stuff out there, but the Shanara series by Brooks was cool. That series and Stephen Donaldson's Thomas Covenant stuff was cool. Since this is a movie thread, I'll ask: "WHY CAN'T THEY MAKE MOVIES OF THEIR FANTASY WORKS?!"

MOST of my reading is spend on 18th/19th century fiction. And I would definitely RATHER read than watch a movie.

we went to see Break Up last week. Pretty good flick, but the weird thing was, the first half hour or so, the actors tops of their heads were chopped off at the top of the screen and then after that you could see the friggin' boom mics over their heads. I did a google search and it seems that this wasn't the projectionists problem because it happened in other theatres as well.

Really annoying!
