What a sad shame. And the reporters had to mention helmets yet again, as though it matters.

I don't mean that. I mean they act like the riders were somehow responsible for being slammed into unexpectedly. It happens in almost every newspaper article.

Charged with hit and run and failure to render aid? The man died, that's manslaughter!

Oh it gets worse. They found the husdand of the woman that hit them trying to make repairs to the car when they got caught.
Not only did they not care, they truely wanted to get away with it after the accedent.
That's just beyound sad.

I also agree about what's been said about the helmets. I'm not sure it needed to be mentioned in the article, but some how, helmets worn or not, it is always in the articles.

Not much to update on Becky. She will be ok - well, physically she'll be ok...

I guess they are just addressing the fact that they were responsible riders, when they mention helmet. So we wont think they are some squid.

Thats just my 2 cents.

Sad to hear tho.

well helmets aside it's a total shame that they hit and ran then tried to cover it up, I hope they throw the book at them and then throw them in jail and lose the key

It sounds like the woman that was driving will be looking at some heavy charges. It doesn't sound like the husband that was messing with the car afterwards will be looking at much.

I myself have been involved with a looonggg drawn out lawsuit over the death of a loved one in a motercycle accident and I can say that it is a very draining process. It just grinds you down. That being said I too hope they naill these people fast. There is no excuse to not see a biker on a major highway like this and just hit them head on because you think you need to turn and get somewhere fast!

Sorry for the rant.... Maybe it's just too close to the anivesery of the loss of my father but this one is really getting under my skin.

Sorry to hear that. The driver should get the maximum allowed. I hope for your friends sake it doesn't drag out and the evidence is enough to close the case on them quickly.

I hate to see threads like this. It does happen way too often. I hope the driver does serve serious time. Too often these people get off with a slap on the wrist.
