Some guy's just don't get the coffee rule, the last three guy's we have hired won't set up the coffee or make it, one claims he doesn't drink it but he does, one guy makes a pot one hour before he gets off and drinks half of it leaving half a pot of old coffee and the last guy claims he doesn't know how
to make coffee..

Got here to work about an hour ago only to be met by my manager w/a huge smile on his face. Now I never see this guy in the late evenings, only in the mornings when I'm on my way out. He asked me to meet him in the conference room when I put my things down .

Walked in only to find the OFFICE COFFEE THIEF sitting at the table. He stands to introduce himself while my manager states that this guy is one of our new account executives over service delivery & has transferred here for 2 months to monitor a project. OOPS !!! (Missed that email...didn't get that info.; boy, the toe of my shoe tastes sorta tart ) Said he was rotating through different departments & wanted to meet briefly w/a few of the employees on our account (didn't sound right to me; how was I chosen...during night shift...where was my director...do I need a lawyer?)

Immediately he explained that he takes a 90 min conference call each morning starting promptly @6am (I make coffee promptly @5:50) and he fills his mug so that he doesn't have to go w/o coffee during the call. (Now was not a good time for me to say, "Well, why don't you come in earlier to make "YOU" some friggin' coffee & then start "US" some before your call.)

We talked a while and things appeared to have went well. Neither of us mentioned details of the incident from this morning. He did state that he was from Dallas and works out of Atlanta. Also, said that he didn't know that people at our location were so serious about coffee .

I left but he and my manager were in the conference room for about 30mins afterwards (I was monitoring...being nosey, ya know! ) Guess I'll stick around for a bit in the morning to see if my manager will tell me what this guy really thinks of me....not that I actually care . Hope I can keep my job!

Jump him in the morning. Take him to the mailroom and ship him to my shop. We'll swing him from a lift for a while then wall him into a utility room room on a job site...fudge the blue prints and no one will know. Send your manager along, consider it a " two fer' ". Least we could do for a fellow rider.

All this for some beans that were picked somewhere in south america by exploited future immigrants? I dont get it. Then again I was such a caffine addict in college I quit and got the DT's. The real irony is that I worked the Starbucks international convention 2 years in a row.. talk about bean fiends. I felt like the sole AA member in a St Patricks Day kegger.

you still should have sabotaged the coffee... direct intervention is less fun than subtle chaos and well placed tobasco or good Navy coffee which Im assured gets most industrial lubricants off heavy machinery.
