|  $30K race bike stolen by dumb crook Today's newspaper (The Oregonian) had a little story that was pretty funny. A teenager steals a $30,000 dollar race motorcycle (sorry... no info on the bike). The cops stop him only a few minutes later for riding with no lights on. They get to looking, they see that the bike has just been stolen, but the kid runs away into a vacant lot, leaving the bike behind. The cops give chase and the kid ends up loosing his shoes and then falls down a hill and into a creek, after he comes out of the creek, the kid takes off across a field toward the back of a building. He tries to get in the back door, but its locked, so he runs around to the front entrance and crouches under some bushes waiting to see if he can get in. Well what the kid did was to run to the sherriff's office building and he hid under the sherriff's window, and soon after was nabbed by the cops. What a maroon! Too bad theres no info on the bike. The paper just said 'race bike', and oh... the cops said that the kid should have just stayed on the bike, because if he'd gotten on the nearby freeway entrance (I-205), he probably could have lost the cops even in a high speed pursuit. Doncha just love dumb crook stories?  |
