A friend of mine at work was telling me today about how he used to ride, when he lived in California, and how he is always thinkin about getting another bike one day, but that he probably would'nt. So I sez: "what's the problem ?" ... so he says, "well... ya know my girlfriend just does'nt want me to ride, and I'm tryin to talk with her about it, but I just don't know if she's going to go for it, me getting a bike". So my jaw drops open, and I just say " you know, its really up to you whether you want to buy a bike or not"... he just says "I know, but ....." ............. and then I stopped listening, I just said ya..OK. This friend is a nice guy... too nice probably. So my question remains: So what's the deal? I was thinking of just going on and saying something like "Go and get yer balls back from your girlfriend." but its none of my business, but somebody should say it. I mean, it is a sorry state of affairs when a gay guy (me) has to tell a buddy to be a man and stand up for himself. Maybe I'm just makin too much of this.. but this is the second time recently I heard guys tell me that they would like to ride but the women in their lives won't allow it. Please feel free to weigh in. whataya think? |
