Since 'Nut's been a guitar god since the 80's I suspect he has no idea if something like this exists. I thought I'd throw it out for the new players on our little boat. I've had a year of weekly lessons. I didn't have much time to practice in between them, and when I did I had a hard time finding the groove. My instructor was great. He knows both the theory and the emotion of guitar music, and while in the room with him I really made progress. It's after I got home that I hit the wall. I want to continue to learn, partly so I can play with my 85 year-old grandfather this holiday season. He's a spritely old chap, but no one lives forever. Back to our regularly scheduled program: I think what might really help me is a lesson that I can play in my theater room and play along with. I don't really care what kind of music it is, but I want it to be fun. Anything from John Denver to Johnny Cash to Metallica. I'd like it to be fairly basic, but it need not start at zero. I have learned basic chords and a few scales. Sorry for my poorly constructed post. I'm tired. Any ideas? Thanks. |
