Default Firefox has so many cool toys.

I was looking for extensions and came upon "Forecastfox". It's a utility that pulls Accuweather data into just about any location in your browser. I went with the suggested status bar location. I have icons and text for current conditions, today's forecast, and icons for five more days in the little cells at the lower right of the window. Really cool! It's remarkably customizeable for any layout and data set. And it's free!

I also use FireFTP (ftp client), Google Toolbar (which I move up to the main menu bar), Minimize to Tray (saves a taskbar space), and Tab Mix Plus (allows extreme customization of tab functionality). What extensions do you find highly useful?

WebDeveloper - options to disable most HTTP headers (redirect, etc.), enable/disable/show cookies, view and validate CSS, Forms, Images, etc.

*Very* useful if you are doing web development.

I'll check that out. Thanks. On web development, I also use the IETab plugin. It allows you to open a tab using the IE6 engine, so you don't have to open IE separately. It's also nice for those poorly designed backend sites that don't support web standards, so Firefox doesn't work.

Ah grasshopper you do not yet understand the ways of the malicious software in the world today. I E is the Rice Paper of protection. You must tread lightly or you will damage the inner peace that you seek. With IE your journey will be filled with danger and treachery.

You can get tabbed browsing in IE? You have a built-in popup blocker? (Oh, that's right, MS tacked one on last week). No, good sir, there are not nearly as many extensions for IE. You see, no one wants to spend their personal time developing for IE, so there just isn't the same kind of support and flexibility.

Heck, it's only in the last year that MS comes close to adhering to internet standards, and even that's sketchy. Tried to build a standards-compliant website that works in IE lately?

IE has more holes the the move Holes.

Have you seen MS Vista?
Rundown:
OS GUI looks like OS X
IE is FireFox
3D Modeling for file and Directory viewing is Linux.

They robbed from everyone.

This is a very valid point. We know everything and of that, we wish that we didn't. LOL.

LMAO at "all your extensions are belong to us" - (still laughing dammit)

(some won't understand that one...)

Firefox is da bomb - I rarely open IE at home anymore (like once a week maybe)... but "Israel Radio Extension"? Isn't there some other extension that's a little more pressing?

i am not arguing that IE is BETTER than FireFox...just that it can do the same stuff. Not sure what "tabbed browsing" is, but i can get from page to page quite easily, even if it requires multiple windows (tabs) open.

its been working for me just fine since 1995, so why should i change? i get ZERO popups, no "malicious software", no virus' and dont need the Israel Radio extension".

bluecruser, if firefox is so great, why is it you have to open IE once a week at all? its that right there that proves my point. I dont have to open FireFox once a week....things that make you go "hmmmmm"

plus, AYBABTU parody's of Zero Wing translation work fine in IE

man i KILL me sometimes!!
