Sorry, dude, but I gotta' say it.

Clubs that are based upon race are wrong. Period. This country has incurred so much cost and heartache based upon certain groups of people excluding other groups of people from things because of their skin color. We fought two wars for this type thing you know - a violent one and a peaceful one. I, for one, do not condone any sort of race-specific organization.

Nice website. Sorry for the rant.

Gotta agree with the Meat.

Although I realise you're trying to do something positive for Black riders, how would you feel if someone started a "For whites only club ?.

Well I don't agree with the concept but wish you luck in your endeavors, anything that can be done to organize and educate any rider is a step in the right direction.

Dern, Bob.

I think our political mesasge screwed up the guy's thread.

Man on Fire: Don't let us run you off, now! It's still a cool site (the BURN site) and all, for some reason, I felt like expressing my views. It's still cool.

Please don't leave.

READ THE ENTIRE MESSAGE!!!

It's one of those things you want to walk away from but it just keeps coming back... It's confussing that so many problems were created just to be sure to "include" everyone, it has become the "include" but I want to be able to "exclude" at my desire, not yours... Say like... a black Miss America contest??? On one of the nightly talk shows, the guy is freaking out about a "white only" prom being held in some southern state. In society, we live by segregation, it's a part of what we are. If you were to attend an all inclusive prom, you would see all the "jocks" at one table, the nerds at another, the "cool" chicks hanging together, the blacks at another, the burnouts at another, etc., etc. If you were to visit the high school cafeteria, you would see this play out every day. Just try to hang with the jocks if your not one or head over to the cool chick table and try to line up that Saturday night date. If you ain't in the "correct" social circle, you will be chastised and humiliated. It ain't got nothin' to do with race... There are lots of things I'm exclude from because of my wealth (lack of it), country clubs, housing areas... Even in death, there is segregation. I have hundreds of Jewish friends BUT I can't be buried in their cemetery, I'm not Jewish. This is a fact of life, you just have to live with it or in some cases, die with it....

I have personally found,in the areas I have lived anyway, that the jocks, nerds, cool thing stops as soon as you leave school, and even at school it wasn't the be-all and end-all.
I have many friends from many different backgrounds, there is no segregation.I could be sitting at a table at work or out in a bar with, for example,a multi-millionaire,a guy whose dad was homeless for most of his life,a gay man,a black man,a professional sportsman. The list goes on,and these descriptions are of actual people who I know and know each other.
I make my decisions about people I meet purely on the way they act,the way they talk to me and other people and basically try to work out if they are a nice person,I couldn't give a toss what colour they are, where they live or what they do or don't do for a living.

Hey, I've got a black motorcycle, does that mean I'm a member?

I think having an exclusive club like the MARY KAY pink riders or old farts on Suzuki's or black skin brothers is ok. The question is..where you riding your group and why? Bottomline, do you have loving eyes to see the road ahead? RIde safe.

This is a free country, if you want to have a motorcycle club for African Americans, I say enjoy it. (of course, my approval is vital...) The more people of all backgrounds on bikes the better.

If I were black, I might not feel too comfortable looking to join a club that was all bearded white guys - but this club might very well be a source of greater enjoyment of motorcycling.

Ride on! (bad play on words)

Hey I'm white,( well lets say off white) and I don't think I would join an all white guys with beards club. I have bad early childhood memories of Bluto beating up on Popeye and I would shake so much I couldn't ride the bike.

I find that, in general, self-imposed isolation (for instance, a cajun-only motorcycle club) usually results in me being around a bunch of folks that I have nothing in common with, other than the fact that we are all cajun. It's kind of like, hanging out with folks I work with. We didn't gradually slowly evolve into a crowd of people with like interests that have fun together, we were all sort of thrown into this situation by necessity.

Some of my greatest experiences in life have been shared with the people that I have surrounded myself with because of who they are as a person (hobbies, presonality, etc.), not who they are as an object (racially, religiously, etc.).

Just my thoughts.

I checked out the site and read through the forums. Quite a different site. Not much motorcycle info, more of a "social" atmosphere. :o

Just my thoughts.[/quote]

Meatman, Lets start the CC riders club.( Cajun Crawdaddies) don't you know. We'll only let objects like poor white trash(race) and Southern Baptists,(religion) ride with us, and those who don't have any thoughts can lead the pack.

Get your crawdaddy crawling. Head out on the highway. Lookin for the mindless or whoever comes our way.
